What if the screen in your business could do more than display content?
VYPA Host helps businesses turn their existing screens into advertising opportunities while keeping control of their displays.
By joining the VYPA Host network, businesses can allow relevant advertisements to appear on their screens and earn a share of the advertising revenue generated.
Whether you operate a supermarket, restaurant, hotel, salon, gym, clinic or other business, your screen can become part of a wider advertising network.
While you continue using your screen for your own content, VYPA can help put it to work as an additional revenue stream.
With VYPA Host, your screen isn’t just an expense, it can become an income-generating asset.
Will Advertising Annoy My Customers?
This is the first question almost every venue owner asks, and it deserves a direct answer rather than reassurance.
It would, if the screen became an advertising channel that occasionally showed your content. That is not how it works, and a venue that let it happen would damage something more valuable than the revenue.
Your own content remains the primary purpose of your screen. Advertising occupies a portion of the rotation, in the same way a magazine carries advertising between its articles without becoming a catalogue. Customers who look up see your menu, your promotions, and occasionally an advert from another business.
In practice, most customers do not register the distinction at all. A screen showing a mix of content reads as a screen with something on it, which is considerably better than a screen showing a muted news channel nobody chose.
Keeping Control of What Appears
Brand safety matters more for a venue than for almost any other advertising medium, because the advert is appearing inside your business, next to your name, in front of your customers.
Two protections matter:
- Category control. You should be able to rule out categories that do not suit your venue. A family restaurant, a clinic, and a church have different standards, and none of them should have to accept a generic set.
- Competitor exclusion. No venue should find a competing business advertising on its own screen. This is the single most important protection, and it is the one venues most often forget to ask about elsewhere.
You are not handing over your screen. You are making some of its playtime available under conditions you set.
Who Qualifies as a Host
The network works best for venues where people spend time rather than simply pass through. In practice that means:
- Supermarkets, grocers, and retail with queues
- Restaurants, cafés, lounges, and viewing centres
- Hotels, receptions, and waiting areas
- Salons, barbershops, and beauty studios
- Gyms, fitness studios, and sports facilities
- Clinics, pharmacies, and consulting rooms
What matters is not the category so much as the answer to one question: do people in your venue have unoccupied seconds while facing a screen? If they queue, wait, sit, or browse slowly, the answer is yes.
Getting Started
The requirements are modest. A screen with a spare HDMI port, a power outlet, an internet connection, and a business with regular footfall.
From there it is a VYPA player connected to the screen, an account paired to it, and your own content uploaded. The screen begins doing its primary job immediately. Advertising revenue follows as campaigns are booked that match your venue type and audience.
The screen was already on the wall, already drawing power, and already being paid for. The only change is that it stops being purely a cost.
What Advertisers Are Actually Buying
Understanding the other side of the transaction makes it clearer why your screen has value.
A brand booking a campaign is not buying screen time. It is buying access to a specific audience in a specific state of mind: relaxed, local, physically present, and near a point of purchase. That combination is genuinely difficult to buy online, where attention is fragmented and increasingly hard to verify.
What makes your venue valuable to them is not the screen. It is your customers, and the fact that you have already done the hard work of getting them through the door.
Why Early Hosts Do Better
Advertising networks work on both sides at once. Advertisers want reach, which requires venues. Venues want revenue, which requires advertisers.
In the early stages of a network, venues are scarcer than advertisers in any given area. A venue that joins while its neighbourhood is underserved tends to see a higher share of the campaigns booked for that area, simply because there is less competition for them.
As a network matures, that advantage narrows. This is the ordinary dynamic of any marketplace, and it is the practical argument for not waiting to see how it develops.
